While many people‘s representatives of   Angul & Dhenkanal District are facing the irk of the people , due to severe pollution ,damaged infrastructures,  unemployment,  displacement and poor health services,  several BJD workers have urged for change of candidates in many constituencies.

Rapid industrialisations and mining activities posed serious threat to ecology, infrastructure and health condition of the people of Angul and Dhenkanal district .

The air quality of Angul district is worse than that in New Delhi, as per the  bulletin released by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) .

While the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded in some days of last January was 345 in New Delhi, at that time it was 352 in Angul.

Irresponsible industrilasation and mining activities in the close area of 20 km radious of Angul -Dhenkanal district  are responsible for the deteriorating air quality and subsequent health hazards.  The present people's representatives,  who are mute spectacles of this wretched conditions,  are miserably failed to adress these issues . Likely around 200 people have been died and hundreds of people injured in accidents due the damaged NH -55 at Angul . Angul , the highest paid revenue district have no Medical College yet .

The failure of the people's  representatives to address all these important issues irked the people who are demanding better candidates to represent them.

Assessing the mood of the people , and anti incumbent factors , the ruling BJD wants to change its MP candidate.  “The present MP Mr Mahesh Sahoo may be replaced and adjusted in some other Assembly constituency ”- told Mr C R Sahu , a political analyst.

Recentely , the BJD inducted a renowned and popular Neurosurgeon Dr Pratap Kumar Pani of Bangalore into the party. Dr Pani , who belong to the reputed family of Late Madhusudan Pani of Bijigol of Angul district ,  a close associate of Late Biju Pattanaik , has been providing health service to the locals as well as Odisha people helping them generously at their critical moment.  “ Citizens Action Forum ” in a letter to C M, Odisha requested to give MP ticket to him . After joining BJD , Mr Pany is welcomed by people of Kaniha , Palalahara , Angul , Parjang, Dhenkanal , Hindol and kamakhyanagar . “ Mr Pani , a top health strategist should be given a chance to lead BJD as a MP from Dhenkanal constituency to properly address the health issues of Angul - Dhenkanal area ” - told Advocate C R Sahu of CAF.

BJD  has appointed its most important leader  and strategist Pranab Prakash Das as the observer for the districts of Dhenkanal,  Angul, Sambalpur, and Keonjhar. On the basis of its internal survey , Mr Das is assessing the winning possibilities of the candidates at Palalahara , Parjang , Chhendipada and Kamakhya nagar  . The rampant mining corruption and revenue loss in mining sector and failure  of the Mines Minister Prafulla  Mallik to check it  , is noticed by the BJD high command . This may affect the chance of his renomination from Kamakhya nagar constituency     The clean image of Rajanikanta Singh , MLA & Ex Minister and organisational excellency of his son Arunav is considered as a great asset of the Party in Angul Constituency.  BJD high command is seriously considering anti incumbency factor in Parjang , Palalahara Chhendipada and Athamallik constituency. Er Nalini Pradhan , the Ex MP candidate of Sambalpur Parliamentary constituency is a strong contender to replace the present MLA at Athamallik constituency. Mr Pradhan , during his period as Chief Engineer, remarkably developed the road infrastructure of Athamallik constituency .
