“Bhim Bhoi , the 19th century saint and poet  have preached compassion  & equality in the society and was against caste system “- told Mr Rajanikanta Singh , Dy Speaker , Odisha Assembly. Addressing the 174 th  State level anniversary of Bhima Bhoi at Angarbandha  Mahima Dhama premises at Angul , Mr Singh told that "The saint Poet Bhima Bhoi became the voice of protest against social injustice, religious bigotry, and caste discrimination. His faith in Mahima Dharma led to his belief in one God, one Society, and one Religion." Mr Singh lauded the efforts of Angarbandha Mahima Dhama towards development & spreading of Mahima dharma and expressed his commitment to extend cooperation to it . 

The meeting was inaugurated by Mahima Saint Baba Muralidhar Das & Trinath Das . 

The meeting which was presided over by Mr Gopal Natha , President , Alekha Mahima Samajika Urnnayan Parishada was also addressed by researcher Dr Uddhaba Charan Nayak and  Prof Santanu Kumar Sar , Dr Satya Narayan Singh Samanta , Block Chairman Bijay Natha , K C Pradhan &  Sujata Sahu . The meeting was Co -organised by Alekha Mahima Dharma Managing Committee &  Alekha Mahima Samajik Unnayan Parishad . Many Saints , intellectuals ,and local villagers were present in the meeting . 

The Speakers in their address elaborated details of the activities of poet Bhima Bhoi. 

Bhim Bhoi has told that he could acquire his poetic prowess and knowledge about religion only by the blessings of his guru Mahima Mahaprabhu. "Let my life in hell, but let the suffering of universe mitigate. I would prefer to stay in hell forever if that would save the world," said Bhim Bhoi . Bhim Bhoi's messages on compassion and selflessness were most striking.Bhim Bhoi took Mahima Dharma to millions of people, which was founded by Mahima Swami. Though it was founded by Swami, he left behind no written works and it was Bhim Bhoi who took Mahima traditions to masses. It was in Bhima Bhoi’s poetic utterances that the philosophical ideas and concepts of Mahima cult found their way to the hearts of millions in Odisha and outside this State through an outburst of lyric energy.. His faith in Mahima Dharma led to his belief in one God, one Society, and one Religion.Bhim Bhoi's verses had ideas of freedom and equality .Bhim Bhoi also attacked the caste system and preached oneness of people. 

The speakers at the event also pointed the importance of The Alekha Mahima Temple,Angarabandha , which is a most sacred place of Mahima faith.
