Farmers guided to increase the income through FPO

Various experts, in a program organised by G T Bharat, focused on improving livelihoods and boosting income generation of the farmer producers of Odisha by Enhancing Export Competitiveness in Agro & Food Processing sectors.
The HDFC Bank sponsored program Sustainable Livelihood Initiative is being implemented by GT India. Twenty farmer producer companies have been formed in four districts of Odisha through this program in Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Khordha and Puri districts. The objective of the program is to create qualitative increase in the income of its members through various processes through the formation of farmer producer organizations through the company of farmers. GT Bharat is committed to the goal of increasing the income by increasing the capacity of the Farmer Producer Organization and increasing the qualitative value in the field of their ongoing livelihood by connecting them to the healthy market.
Under the programme, GT Bharat organized the residential training for directors of Farmer Producer Organizations . In the programme, Professor V Padmanand, Partner Grant Thornton took stock of the training being imparted to the farmers through online medium and guided the farmers on the scheme of increasing the income of the farmers through cooperatives. In this program, the directors of all the 20 organizations were trained by the country's renowned FPC expert Professor V Padmanand on the esoteric methods of running the company and earning profits. Professor V Padmanand said that this type of comprehensive training program builds the capacity of FPC directors and prepares the action plan for the companies to come. Mr. Manoj Kharb, Director of GT Bharat, told that the newly formed farmer producer companies are progressing very fast and in future various facilities will be made available to the farmers under the supervision of GT Bharat.
Shri Jyoti Sankar Mohapatra, Chief development officer cum Executive Officer, Jilla Parishad Puri, Shri Ramesh Chandra Roy, CDAO Puri, Amulya Ratna Panda GM DIC, Mr Sanjay Mohanty sr. scientist cum Head KVK, Banaja Kanta Mahari, DPM OLM Puri also participated in the program and told that the FPCs will continue to get the cooperation of the line departments and the farmers will get benefits. The directors of FPC actively participated in the program and acquired the necessary knowledge to run the organization.
Gitanjali Sahu,Director of FPC, told that participating in such training program boosts their enthusiasm and they get the necessary message to reach the member farmers. In the closing session of the program, the best performing FPCs were awarded and all the participants were given certificates.
