Handapa people stressed upon employment generation- urged for development through railway activities
People opposed participation of school children in strike

Thousands of villagers of six gram panchayats under Kishornagar block have submitted a memorandum to Athamallik Sub - Collector for the smooth operating and continuance of a coal stockyard near Handapa railway station , which is providing livelihood to hundred of families around it .
The villagers , under the banner of Mass Maheswari United Prajasangh urged the Govt to allow the Operation of the coal yard to stop massive migration from this area . Kishorenagar Block has no industries and mines . Hundreds of poor villagers are engaged in the transportation activities of the coal yard and getting livelihood.
“ When the country has acute coal shortage affecting Power Plants and other industries , 31 trains have been loaded with coal from Handapa Siding with last 2 months and railway has earned around 6.20 crore rupees . “- told Mr Khirod Behera, President of the Praja Sangha.
“The transport company GK &Co, in charge of the coal yard is providing employment opportunities , health service and engaged with various CSR activities “- told Mr S Behera , Secretary
In the other hand some other people with the help of some school children demonstrated at railway station opposing the coal stockyard .
There is widespread resentment among the villagers and activists as some people have engaged the school children in the demonstration for their own political interest .
In a petition and subsequent tweet to Mr Naveen Pattanaik , C M , Mr C R Sahu, Advocate & Secretary “Citizens Action Forum “ urged the Govt to take stern action to strengthen the development process at Kishorenagar of Angul district .
