Lawyer Activist Prashanta Bhusan and Medha Patekar will address Farmers Meet

While arranging a mega farmer’s meet to felicitated veteran Lawyer Activist Prashanta Bhusan and Medha Patekar on coming 9 th Sept at Puri for their relentless efforts against illegal land grabbing , illegal mining and environmental pollution of various corporates including of Vedanta , various social activists, intellectuals & political leaders called for fight against Government- corporate nexus in the state of Odisha .

Addressing a “Press Meet “ on Friday at Bhubaneswar , Activist & Ex -MLA Mr Uma Ballva Ratha elaborated the SC judgement on Vedanta issue and demanded that Government most immediately return land to farmers as per the order of the apex court . He told that farmers and representatives of people’s organisations fighting against various corporates for land , forest & water from all over Odisha & outside of the State will participate in this meeting and a strong people’s network will be strengthened to counter the corporate raj . This meeting will be addressed by Mr Prashant Bhushan & Medha Patker.

Veteran Sarvodaya leader Mrs Krishna Mohanty told that civil societies most come forward against Corporate Raj .

Addressing the Press Meet , Senior Congress leader and MLA Narasingham Mishra demanded that as per the SC in Vedanta case , apart from returning land to people , criminal action should be initiated against the persons involved with it including the CM .

Among others Congress leaders & Ex -Minister Mr Jagarnath Pattanaik, Mr Panchanan Kanunago , Sashmia Behera & Gandhian leader Padma Charan Naik were present in the meet .

In view of the recent escalation of conflicts between affected villagers and corporates on issues of bauxite , coal and iron ore mines and other industrialisation issues in Odisha , Protester Groups from all over the state are coming forward to shape up their agitations with the Mr Bhushan & Medha Patker .
