Popular Odia Stage Play“Jharaka Khola Thau” (Let the window be opened) performed at Bhanja Kala Mandap, Bhubaneswar on Tuesday on the occasion of 11th Drama Festival of premier cultural organization “ Ame Banchichu”

The play written & directed by noted Play Director Mukunda Satpathy highlighted the inadequacies and loneliness of the Senior Citizens due to painful yet natural family disintegration caused by personal freedom, career mobility and education . Mr Satpathy, has also played the lead role , in the play , suggested possible solutions by keeping the window open for friends , relatives & neighbours for social connection and reduce loneliness. The play was Co-directed by Dhala Das and Hrishikesh Mohapatra. Powerful and intimate acting by Mukund , Saunika, Jamini Govinda, Sunil, Jayashree and Pradeep has successfully connect the audience . The auspicious inauguration of the Play Festival was graced by Noted Educationist Subash Barma , noted writer Kalandi Samal , Dr. Laxmidhar Sahu, State Senior Citizen Forum Secretary Rajkishore Samantaray, Dr. Basant Kumar Mishra, Story Writer Chinmaya Jena Journalist Bijay Mishra & poet Jagat Prasad Das.

The second day of the play festival has featured the play “Bagha Bakari Khel”, written by Shankar Tripathi and directed by Navadeep Mahalik. There was a discussion on the topic “Changing tone of the play” , where play writers , performers , Directors and intellectuals have participated.
The first book on the life and public activities of Veteran leader Dr Devendra Pradhan “ Daktarababu “ written by Mr Kalandi Samal was dedicated to the audience in the function .

Noted personalities related to Drama like Asish Kumar Sonar , Abinash Mohapatra , Bhagabat Prasad Bhuyan , Jagat Chandra Das , Bidyasri Sisu ,Jayashri Satpathy , Kalandi Samal , Laxmi Prasad Dwibedi , Jayanta Kumar Singh , Murali Parida , Sarat Chandra Panda and Gayatri Ratha were felicitated on the occasion.
